Inter Milan and Sevilla began the Amsterdam Tournament in less than convincing style as they played out a 0-0 draw.

New Inter manager Jose Mourinho was hoping to step up his preparations for the start of the new Serie A season, but his team could not find a winner.

Mario Balotelli had a golden chance in the opening minute at the Amsterdam ArenA, but Javi Varas narrowed the angle to save the 17-year-old's strike.

Mourinho made one substitution at the interval as Maicon came on for former Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari.

However, the change made little difference as the match remained goalless and both sides were forced to settle for the stalemate.
