David Beckham will not stay with AC Milan beyond March, according to the midfielder's spokesman.

Beckham recently linked up with Milan on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy and he could make his competitive debut for the Italian giants in Sunday's Serie A game against Roma.

He agreed the move in a bid to maintain his fitness and press his claims for an England place, but is due to return to Los Angeles for the start of the Major League Soccer season.

Former Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas stated earlier on Friday that he thought Beckham might be tempted to remain with the Italian side.

However, Beckham's spokesman Simon Oliveira has insisted the 33-year-old will finish his loan spell with Milan in March as planned.

Oliveira said: "Whilst we respect Alexi's right to an opinion, he has not been party to any contractual discussions on the loan agreement to Milan.

"As David has said recently, he will be back in the US for March 9 and with LA Galaxy for the start of the MLS season."
