Vincenzo Iaquinta's brace helped Juventus beat Roma 4-1 and move back to within four points of Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

Claudio Ranieri's side showed no mercy against a depleted Roma outfit, with goals from Iaquinta, Olof Mellberg and Pavel Nedved sealing the victory.

Simone Loria scored for Roma to briefly restore parity after the first of Iaquinta's goals, before the second-placed team pushed on to close the gap on Inter, who host Reggina on Sunday.

In Serie A's other game, Catania jumped two places up to 11th in the table with a 1-0 victory over Lazio.

Michele Paolucci netted the winner from close range in the 23rd minute after an assist by Pablo Ledesma.

Lazio striker Goran Pandev could have equalised in the second-period but saw his spot-kick saved by Catania goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri just after the hour mark.
