Giulio Migliaccio scored his second goal of the campaign to put the home side ahead midway in the first-half before Fabrizio Miccoli doubled Palermo's advantage with a 37th minute free-kick.

Jeda looked to have given the away side hope two minutes into the second half, but the hosts put the tie to bed thanks to goals from Giovanni Tedesco, Edinson Cavani and Davide Succi.

The hosts took the lead when midfielder Houssine Kharja's long-distance shot found the top corner on 11 minutes before former Middlesbrough striker added a second in the 25th minute.

Siena looked to be cruising until the 80th minute when Pia popped up with a goal, but the visitors were unable to find a second.

Udinese comfortably beat Atalanta 3-0 at home with Fabio Quagliarella scoring a brace and Giovanni Pasquale netting an injury-time third after Atlanta lost Gianpaolo Bellini saw red after picking up his second yellow card.

Genoa beat local rivals Sampdoria 3-1 in a dramatic final match of the day to boost their European hopes.

Milito made it 2-1 to Genoa in the 73rd minute and then completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

Milito's third goal came at the end of a fiery five-minute period that had produced three red cards, with Matteo Ferrari and Thiago Motta sent off Genoa and Campagnaro dismissed for Samp.
