Juventus moved to within four points of leaders Inter with a 1-0 win over bottom of the table Siena thanks to a 72nd minute goal from Amauri.

A late brace from defender Alessandro Nesta saw AC Milan come from behind to beat Chievo.

Giampiero Pinzi had given the home side the lead after only seven minutes and the Flying Donkeys held their advantage until the 80th minute when Nesta bravely headed home after Thiago Silva had seen his effort come back off the bar.

Nesta then added a second in stoppage time as he met an Andrea Pirlo corner as Leonardo's men grabbed an unlikely win and moved up to sixth as a result.

Palermo left it late to beat Udinese at Renzo Barbera when defender Cesare Bovo's snatched the only goal of the game in the 87th minute to move the hosts up to fifth.

Another late goal, this time at the Artemio Franchi, won the game for Napoli when an 88th minute Christian Maggio strike was enough to see off hosts Fiorentina.

Seventh place Parma slipped up at Atalanta, who moved clear of the drop zone with a 3-1 win. Jaime Valdes gave Atalanta the lead from the spot two minutes before the interval before Simone Tiribocchi doubled their advantage on 53 minutes.

The visitors pulled a goal back through substitute Alberto Paloschi on 78 minutes but Federico Paluso made sure of the points with seven minutes remaining.

Roma lost their second successive league game when they fell 1-0 to struggling Livorno, Francesco Tavano grabbing the crucial goal on 40 minutes.

Cagliari left it late to come from behind and beat Genoa 3-2 at home. The hosts were behind when Giandomencio Mesto opened the scoring on 20 minutes.

Davide Biondini levelled for Cagliari 10 minutes after the break but Genoa were soon back in the lead when Sergio Floccari scored four minutes later.

However the home side secured all three points with goals from Anderson Miguel Nene, from the penalty spot on 79, and substitute Andrea Lazzari three minutes from time.

Lazio continued their long wait for a win when they slipped up at Bari. Paulo Vito Barreto opened the scoring on 11 minutes before Riccardo Meggiorini wrapped up the win on 69.
