Totti: Hat-trick hero
AC Milan edged a seven-goal thriller against Cagliari, while Francesco Totti was the hero for Roma.
Elsewhere, Lazio's winless run continued, Atalanta secured a much-needed victory in their battle to avoid the drop and Juventus claimed a narrow success.
AC Milan are now unbeaten in eight outings, and ensured they remain in touch with city rivals Inter at the summit, after they saw off in-form Cagliari 4-3 at Giuseppe Meazza.
Clarence Seedorf got the goal-fest up and running inside five minutes, but saw his effort cancelled out by Alessandro Matri four minutes later.
Cagliari then went in front through Andrea Lazzari on the half-hour mark, but their lead did not last long.
