Gattuso: Needs games
Gennaro Gattuso admits a lack of playing time at AC Milan has forced him to consider his options.
The Italy international has struggled with injuries this term, severely restricting his first-team opportunities, while he has also been a victim of coach Leonardo's rotation policy.
At 32 years old the combative midfielder feels he is at a stage of his career where he needs to be playing week in, week out.
He feels he is still capable of doing a job for Milan and has hinted that he could be persuaded to look elsewhere if his situation at San Siro fails to improve.
"I am Rino Gattuso and I cannot wait for someone to get injured in order to play," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"I would be lying if I said that everything is okay.
"At this time I am not happy because of the injury and the fact that I am not being used much.
"I still feel strong and I am disappointed not to be able to prove it.
"I don't accept the thought that I am no longer indispensable."
Gattuso, who has made just seven league appearances for the Rossoneri this season, added: "I will have to talk to the club and with (AC Milan vice-president Adriano) Galliani because it's not nice that after 11 years at the club you play once in a while."
The former Rangers man, who is contracted to Milan until 2011, has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City over recent months and could be tempted to take up the offer of a fresh challenge at Eastlands.
However, his agent Andrea D'Amico has sought to play down transfer rumours for now, insisting Gattuso's differences with Milan could yet be resolved.
"I prefer not to talk about it because I don't know what to say," D'Amico told Violanews.com.
"There are some things to consider before we can speak of the future."
