Davide Ballardini's position as Lazio manager could be under threat after reports in Italy claim club president Claudio Lotito has already lined up Giancarlo Camolese as his replacement.

A 1-0 defeat at home to Catania has plunged the Biancocelesti into the Serie A relegation zone and Lotito has lost patience with his coach, who has only led Lazio to one league win in 2010.

Camolese is favourite to succeed struggling Ballardini, but the former Torino manager has denied any contact with the Rome club.

"The fact my name has been linked to Lazio is pleasing me," Camolese told Calciomercato.it.

"I always tell the truth and I can assure you that I haven't heard from Lazio officials."

Meanwhile, Lazio have completed the permanent signings of Andre Dias from Sao Paulo, Genoa defender Giuseppe Biava as well as a loan deal for Gonzalo Barreto as they aim to rescue their flagging campaign.

The pair were set to be joined by promising Maccabi Haifa midfielder Eyal Golasa, but contract talks broke down in the closing stages.
