Jose Mourinho was brought back down to earth as Inter Milan dropped two more points, while Roma and Fiorentina triumphed.

Inter Milan's indifferent Serie A form shows no sign of abating and the champions were held to a 1-1 draw by fourth-placed Palermo.

Mourinho celebrated knocking his former club Chelsea out of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, but could see Inter pushed off the summit on Sunday if AC Milan defeat Napoli.

Diego Milito fired the Nerazzurri in front from the penalty spot in the 10th minute but Endinson Cavani levelled for the home side midway through the first half.

Roma remain firmly in the title race and are now just four points adrift of top spot after a 4-2 home success against poor travellers Udinese.

Mirko Vucinic was the hero for the hosts as he bagged a hat-trick, including one penalty, with Luca Toni also on target.

Udinese, who are still to win on the road in Serie A this season, responded with two goals from Antonio Di Natale, who also found the net from the spot.

Fiorentina climbed above Cagliari to revive their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win over Genoa.

Mario Santana put the Viola ahead in the fifth minute before a disputable penalty allowed Alberto Gilardino to double their advantage in the 73rd minute.

The first goal in Serie A for 17-year-old forward Khouma El Babacar rounded off the win in the 86th minute as Genoa continued their terrible form away from home to remain in seventh position.
