Roma have announced the signing of defender Nicolas Burdisso from Serie A rivals Inter Milan.

The Argentina international spent last season on loan at Roma and has now penned a permanent deal.

Roma have confirmed Burdisso has inked a four-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 29-year-old, who joined Inter from Boca Juniors, arrives at Roma for a fee in the region of £6.5million.

Juventus were also thought to be in the running for Burdisso's signature.
