Pato: Starred for Milan
AC Milan made an impressive start to the new Italian domestic season, but Juventus were shocked by Bari.
Alexandre Pato was the star for Milan as they welcomed Serie A new boys Lecce to the top flight with a 4-0 drubbing at the San Siro.
Pato scored twice inside the opening half hour, while Thiago Silva also found the target early on and Filipo Inzaghi completed the rout just before the final whistle.
Luigi Del Neri did not enjoy his first competitive game in charge of Juventus as they went down 1-0 at Bari, with Massimo Donati grabbing the only goal.
Sampdoria shrugged off their midweek UEFA Champions League disappointment to beat Lazio 2-0 at home.
There was nothing to choose between the sides until Antonio Cassano scored from the penalty spot on the hour mark, with Stefano Guberti then adding a second.
Fiorentina and Napoli played out a fiery 1-1 draw which saw both sides reduced to ten men in the second half.
