Bari defender Nicola Belmonte has signed a new deal to keep him at the club for another five years.

The 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for Bari in recent seasons and talks have been going on for some time over an extension.

He has now agreed fresh terms and put pen to paper on a contract that ties him to the club until 2015.

Bari's solid backline was a vital component of their success last season and helped them achieve a top-half finish in Serie A.

Belmonte also featured in the opening game of the new campaign as Bari again kept a clean sheet and stunned Juventus 1-0.
