Roma manager Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that he will not resign from his position at the club.

The Giallorossi currently lie in 15th place in Serie A with just seven points from eight games and sit one point above the relegation places.

Roma's season reached its lowest point in last week's game against Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan. Inter turned up to the Stadio Olimpico and duly won 4-0.

Roma then followed that defeat with another, this time against table toppers Udinese when they lost 3-1.

The UEFA Champions League has not gone much better as the Italians sit third in Group A recording just one victory and notching another embarrassing defeat, this time at home to minnows CFR Cluj.

Following the Udinese defeat Spalletti was summoned to a meeting with president Rosella Sensi.

Spalletti said: "I knew she wanted to talk to me. She has always been attentive in what she had to tell me and she has been good to me in order for me to overcome this moment.

"It has been a positive and constructive talk. I never thought to resign, I love this job. Should the club ask me to then that would be a different thing."
