Milan have signed Ghana Under 20 star Dominic Adiyiah from Norwegian club Fredrikstad.

The 19-year-old lit up the youth World Cup in Egypt last month where Adiyiah helped Ghana to the title after a penalty shoot-out win over Brazil.

The striker made it a tournament to remember by picking up the individual honour of being top scorer, with eight goals from seven games, and winning the tournament's best player award.

Milan manager Leonardo was obviously impressed with the youngster's performances but stressed that Adiyiah, who will arrive in January, is one for the future.

"Having been the best player at the Under 20 World Cup is a great thing," he said.

"I'm happy about his arrival and I think he'll do well. He's young. He's a buy for the future."
