Francesco Guidolin has been named Udinese manager on a two-year deal following Pasquale Marino's departure.

Udinese endured a difficult campaign and Marino was brought back to the club to help stave off relegation after originally being sacked.

An agreement was made that he would leave if Udinese secured survival and club bosses have now turned to Guidolin after they did stay up.

For the past two years Guidolin has been in charge of Parma, and reports in the Italian press suggest his old role could now be taken by Marino.

"Udinese Calcio announce that a deal has been reached for the next two seasons with Francesco Guidolin, the new coach of this team," read a statement.

"Joining him will be a staff made up of assistant manager Diego Bortoluzzi, goalkeeping trainer Lorenzo Di Iorio, fitness coaches Adelio Diamante and Claudio Bordon.

"We give Guidolin the warmest 'welcome home' from Udinese and all its fans."

Guidolin previously managed Udinese in 1998/99.
