Costa: Knee injury
Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Costa has been ruled out for the rest of the year after injuring his knee.
The Portuguese centre-back was a summer recruit from Porto as new Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath looks to bolster his squad for the new campaign.
However, Costa tore ligaments in his right knee during Wolfburg's 4-0 win over Wuerzburg in the first round of the German Cup on Sunday and he will now face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Magath, who only agreed to join Wolfsburg himself at the end of last season, has admitted his disappointment.
"He won't play any soccer again this year. It's very bitter," said Magath.
