Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery insists he enjoyed his winning goal against Arminia Bielefeld even more after being targeted by the home fans.

The France international was singled out by Bielefeld supporters on Sunday before scoring the first-half goal which secured a 1-0 win for Bayern.

He gestured to the fans after finding the target, with the victory keeping Bayern top of the Bundesliga.

Satisfaction

Ribery said: "I understood exactly what they were singing. Something like that is normal in football, but it gave me special satisfaction to score the goal."

Team-mate Miroslav Klose felt Ribery would be better off not reacting to the comments, as he feels it distracts him from the game.

The Germany international striker said: "I said to him immediately after he scored he has just got to ignore the taunts. It doesn't help your game and it is an unnecessary distraction."

Correct

But coach Ottmar Hitzfeld had no problems with Ribery's reaction and feels every player can celebrate in whatever way they see fit.

Hitzfeld added: "Ribery can do what he wants after he has scored a goal, everything is perfectly correct."
