Relegated Bundesliga outfit Hansa Rostock have confirmed that Frank Pagelsdorf will be staying on as coach.
The 50-year-old had come under considerable pressure in recent weeks following his club's slump in form, but board chairman Dirk Grabow told the German press that Pagelsdorf will be given the chance to lead Hansa back into the top flight.
"Our target is to come straight back up and do it with Frank Pagelsdorf as coach," he said.
The North Eastern German club will lose two important players in Marc Stein (to Hertha Berlin) and Tim Sebastian (Karlsruhe) this summer, but new team manager Stefan Beinlich says he is confident Rostock will challenge for promotion again next term:
"I think we will sit down together, analyze this season calmly and then draw the right conclusions," he told Kicker.
