Borussia Dortmund have signed Brazilian defender Felipe Santana.

The 22-year-old Figueirense stopper has signed a five-year contract at the Signal Iduna Park and will officially join the Bundesliga outfit in July.

"We have been looking at him very closely over the past few months," BVB sport director Michael Zorc told the club's official website.

"We have also met with his family and watched him in training, as well as in matches."

Santana, who cost the Schwarz-Gelben a fee in the region of €2 million (£1.6million), will team up with fellow Brazilians Dede and Tinga in a Dortmund squad that disappointed this season despite reaching the DFB Cup final.

Zorc also confirmed that he had reached personal terms with Serbia international defender Marko Basa with regards to a summer move, but has yet to finalise details with the player's club Le Mans.
