Petric: Joined Hamburg
Hamburg have signed Croatia international striker Mladen Petric from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
The Rothosen officially confirmed the deal on Sunday which also sees out-of-favour HSV striker Mohamed Zidan moving in the other direction.
It is believed that Hamburg have paid a fee of around €5million (£4million) for Petric in addition to releasing the Egyptian, who will team up with his former coach at Mainz - Jurgen Klopp - at the Signal Iduna Park.
"We are delighted that we have secured the signing of Mladen Petric," HSV chairman Bernd Hoffmann told the club's official website.
"He is a player who has shown his class in both the Bundesliga and in the national team."
Sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer echoed Hoffmann's words, describing Petric as "a player who can play in many attacking positions and is very dangerous in front of goal."
Petric leaves Dortmund after just one season in which he bagged an impressive 13 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances.
