Kuranyi: Low apology
Kevin Kuranyi has publicly apologised for walking out on the Germany team.
The Schalke striker left the stadium in Dortmund during half-time after failing to be selected for the World Cup qualifier against Russia on Saturday,
Kuranyi made his first statement on the matter at a press conference in Gelsenkirchen on Monday.
"I left the team in the lurch," he told reporters.
"It was wrong to leave so early. I have apologised for my actions, but there is not really a way to put things right. I always felt at home in the national team.
"It is difficult enough as a Schalke player to sit in the stands in Dortmund. Nobody can see what is going on in my body, in my mind and know how bad the situation is."
Kuranyi revealed that he had called Joachim Low to apologise and insisted that he had no hard feelings despite the Germany coach's decision not to recall him while he is in charge.
"I have never had a personal problem with a trainer: Not with a club trainer, not with a national trainer," he said.
"I have always tried to understand people because that's the way I am."
