An enthralling end to Eintracht Frankfurt's clash with Karlsruhe saw the home side claim a crucial 2-1 win.

An even contest between two teams marooned at the wrong end of the Bundesliga standings took 82 minutes before finally springing to life.

Maik Franz thought he had done enough to claim victory for Karlsruhe as he nodded a Bradley Carnell cross into the top corner past a stranded Oka Nikolov.

However, the hosts were level inside two minutes as Benjamin Kohler bundled home from close-range.

Then, with the game having entered injury-time, substitute Ioannis Amanatidis struck to seal a remarkable turnaround.

The result represents Frankfurt's first win of the season and lifts them off the foot of the table, while Karlsruhe remain frustratingly inconsistent and have now slipped to back-to-back defeats.
