Petersen: Hot prospect
Energie Cottbus have signed Germany U20 international striker Nils Petersen from third division Carl-Zeiss Jena.
The 20-year-old put pen-to-paper on a deal through to 2012 after passing a medical on Tuesday.
"Nils Petersen is an investment in our future," Energie general manager Steffen Heidrich told the club's official website.
"He is at the start of his career. We are delighted to have signed a talented young German player and will do our utmost to help his development.
"We are convinced of his ability and will give him every support so that he can take the next step to becoming a Bundesliga player," he added.
Cottbus are currently 16th in the Bundesliga table after winning just three of their 17 league encounters this season.
