Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni insists he is not looking for a way to quit Germany in order to return to Italy.

The former Fiorentina star moved to the Allianz Arena in 2007 in a £10million deal, but he is not expected to be guaranteed first-team football in the new season.

Toni will face competition from arrivals Ivica Olic and record signing Mario Gomez in 2009/10, while the Italy international will also need to impress new boss Louis van Gaal.

The 32-year-old was recently quoted as saying that he would welcome a move to Italy, but he is adamant he is happy with Bundesliga runners-up Bayern.

When asked by Bild if he wanted to leave Germany, he said: "No, I feel very good in Munich.

"Bayern has everything I want at the moment, excellent prospects for the championship and a real chance to win the Champions League."

Regarding the additions of Olic and Gomez, he added: "I think it was a smart decision to bring them in."
