Toni: Apologises for walking out
Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has apologised for walking out of the stadium after he was substituted last weekend.
Toni was brought off at half-time by Bayern manager Louis van Gaal during the 1-1 draw against Schalke at the Allianz Arena, but left the ground in anger shortly afterwards.
The Italy international has been fined by the German club for poor conduct, and he apologised to the fans and his team-mates.
"I want to insist on my words of regret towards my wrong behaviour with regard to the club, my team-mates and the supporters of Bayern Munich," he said.
"Such behaviour has never come to my life before in my whole career and it is down to four long months of deprivation and a lack of understanding with the current manager."
Toni has been constantly linked with a move away from Bayern in recent weeks, as he has found first-team chances hard to come by.
Serie A side Napoli are one club to have already declared their interest, but Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness says they might not decide to sell him.
"We would be stupid to think about which players to sell in this coming winter transfer period," he said.
"This would hand them the belief that they are surplus to requirements at our club.
"We only want to make changes to the squad if there are unhappy players coming up asking for a transfer.
"We are not about to go over to a player like Luca Toni and tell him we want to get him off our pay roll.
"This is definitely not how we do things at Bayern Munich."
