Jaroslav Drobny has admitted he will not stay at Hertha Berlin if they are relegated from the Bundesliga.

The German outfit were on the cusp of domestic glory last season but it has been anything but this time around as Die Alte Dame languish at the foot of the table with just 15 points to their name.

Should Hertha - currently five points adrift of safety - fail to beat the drop, a mass exodus at the capital club will surely be on the cards.

And Drobny, the club's goalkeeper, has been the first to signal his desire to tout himself to potential new employers.

"My Hertha contract expires this summer and I must in advance say that, in case we get relegated, I will be interested only in playing for a top-flight team." Drobny told Deniksport.

Drobny's comments will have been welcomed by Stuttgart after rumours the fellow Bundesliga side are keen to replace veteran Jens Lehmann with the Czech Republic international.

But the 30-year-old shot-stopper, who has already had spells in England with Fulham and Ipswich, has revealed he would welcome a move back to the British Isles.

Of the Stuttgart link Drobny said: "I have registered this only in the media, that is why I would not like to comment on it anyhow.

"On the other hand, I would welcome a return to England."

Drobny still remains confident Hertha can beat the drop however.

"It's playable," he added. "We only need to finish on 30 points because Freiburg don't have a good team and will not win many games. Hannover are also in a bad situation."
