Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil has admitted that he is biding his time before making a decision over his long-term future.

The Germany international, considered one of his country's best young talents, has yet to agree an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2011.

Bremen are desperate to hang on to the 21-year-old, who is understood to have turned down the club's early advances of a new contract, but insists that he has not made any choice to move on just yet.

"I just need time to think," Ozil told the Bild newspaper.

"This is about the next three of four years. It's about my future.

"Aaron Hunt has only just extended his contract six months before it was due to expire so why shouldn't I do that?"

Barcelona dream

Ozil is likely to take his place in the starting line-up for Germany when they take on Argentina on Wednesday, and with the World Cup approaching, Ozil may be forgiven for keeping his options open as he looks to flaunt his talents to some of the world's biggest clubs.

World Player of the Year Lionel Messi will line up for Argentina for the game at the Allianz Arena in Munich, and Ozil did not rule out his desire to play alongside him for Barcelona one day.

"That is my dream club and Messi plays for them," he said.

"But I have a contract until 2011 and, up to now, I haven't had any thoughts about moving."
