Hoffenheim have completed the signing of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson from Reading in a reported €7.3million (£6m) deal.

Skysports.com revealed on Monday that the Royals had accepted a bid from the Bundesliga outfit for the Iceland international's services.

And the 20-year-old, who scored 16 goals in 32 games for Championship club Reading, will depart the Madejski Stadium after finalising a four-year deal in Germany.

"Gylfi Sigurdsson, although only 20 years old, has a great ability to score from midfield and we still see in him huge potential to develop further," said Hoffenheim team manager Ernst Tanner.

Sigurdsson arrived at the Royals as a youngster in 2005, and spent time on loan at Shrewsbury and Crewe before breaking into the first team.

The midfielder will immediately depart Hoffenheim to join up with the Iceland squad ahead of their forthcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Norway and Denmark.
