Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg have completed the signing of young South Korean prospect Koo Ja-cheol.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Germans that will reportedly see him earn around €500,000 a year.

Koo's former club, last season's K-League runners-up Jeju United, confirmed to Yonhap News on Monday that they have accepted an offer from the Bundesliga side.

The midfielder attracted interest from a host of European clubs during the Asian Cup, winning the tournament's Golden Boot award with five goals.

Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart were among the teams rumoured to be in the race for the player's signature.
