Spanish ace Jose Manuel Jurado admits he cannot believe that he was dropped by Schalke last weekend.

The 26-year-old moved to Germany last summer when Schalke paid Atletico Madrid in excess of £10million for the midfielder.

However, last weekend he was left out of the squad to face Bayern Munich by boss Ralf Rangnick.

Jurado admits he was shocked, but insists he will battle for his place in Gelsenkirchen.

Jurado tweeted: "I cannot remember having been ever left out of a match squad due to a decision by a manager.

"Still there is nothing else left for me than to go on fighting against the tide."
