Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci has not given up hope of earning a permanent recall to the Germany team.
The 24-year-old was a part of his country's 2010 World Cup squad and he made an appearance as a 91st minute substitute in the third-place play-off against Uruguay.
Tasci's 2010/11 campaign was then horribly disrupted by injuries and his last international match was the August 2010 friendly against Denmark.
But he has revealed he recently received a phone call from Germany boss Joachim Low and he is optimistic he could find a way back into the squad before Euro 2012.
Tasci, who scored in Saturday's 3-0 win over Hannover, told Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper: "Joachim Low will decide. Everyone who performs well will be selected.
"I have had injuries and we have a lot of young and talented players for my position with regard to the squad.
"But I have yet to give up on being back in the Germany squad and team.
"Recently I received a phone call from Joachim Low. He asked me how things are. In his mind I am not forgotten. This is clearly good news for me."
