Luca Toni has reiterated his desire to leave Bayern Munich as he seeks to get regular playing time ahead of next summer's World Cup.

The Italian striker has fallen down the pecking order under Louis Van Gaal and wants to leave the German giants in January.

Toni, 32, was fined €25,000 last Thursday for going public in his feud with Van Gaal, describing his relationship with the Dutch tactician as 'as good as over', and has since been left out of the squad to face Hannover on Saturday.

He would now like to return to his homeland in January and has been linked with both Napoli and Roma.

No problems

Toni told Raidue: "I have no problems with the club and Bayern Munich fans but the coach prefers other players.

"Fortunately soon the market will re-open. I will talk with the club because I don't like this situation.

"(Could I go to) Napoli? It is an important club in Italy, however there are two or three teams that I like."

But Toni's agent Tullio Tinti denied the striker had been in any negotiations with Roma, who had expressed an interest in the player in the summer.

No contact

He told laroma24.it: "I have not had any contact with the leadership of Roma so there was no basis for negotiations.

"At the moment there isn't any news on this situation."
