Hannover reserve team manager Andreas Bergmann has been granted permission to leave the club in order to take over as boss of Bochum.
Bundesliga 2 outfit Bochum sacked Friedhelm Funkel earlier this week after a run of just one win from their first seven games saw them slump to second bottom in the table.
They wasted no time in approaching Hannover for the services of Bergmann, who had a four-month spell as manager of Die Roten during the 2009/10 season before returning to coach the reserves.
Bochum general manager Jens Todt was delighted with the imminent appointment of the 52-year-old, who is set to take charge of his new side for the first time against SC Paderborn 07 on Saturday.
"We have been looking for someone who can bring in some freshness and new ideas to our first-team squad," Todt told Bochum's official website.
"We are happy to have been allowed to sign Andreas Bergmann, he is an expert. We want to work with him as he can work long-term with young players."
