Werder Bremen are chasing Hamburg's Boubacar Sanogo as their search for a new striker continues.

The Weserstadion side have to replace German international Miroslav Klose, who joined Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

According to Werder director of sport Klaus Allofs, the 26-year-old Sanogo is one of their potential transfer targets.

"He is on our list and we did ask Hamburg if they are interested in selling him and what their conditions would be," Allofs told Kreiszeitung Syke.

The gifted Ivory Coast international has failed to settle at the AOL Arena and appears to be tempted to leave the club.

Bremen have been linked with a number of talented strikers including Lyon front man Milan Baros and Corinthians' Brazilian striker Nilmar.
