Hamburg striker Mladen Petric has returned to training ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury.
The Croatia international has been on the sidelines for three weeks with what was thought to be a long-term calf problem.
But further analysis has identified that Petric's injury was not as serious as first fearerd and he could be involved in some capacity in Friday's match against defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The former Borussia Dortmund player told Kicker: "I am feeling good, better than I have done lately.
"Recent tests had proved that it was more of a haematoma inside the muscle and no actual calf injury. I am happy to be back sooner than I thought."
Petric, who is contracted to Hamburg until June 2012, has played only three Bundesliga matches so far this season as it appears he does not feature in starting-XI plans of manager Armin Veh.
Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp will NOT take over at Barcelona, says Guillem Balague.
