Theofanis Gekas says head coach Michael Skibbe was the main reason why he chose to join Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
Bayer Leverkusen loaned the striker out to Portsmouth in 2009 before another loan deal took him to Hertha Berlin last season.
The former Greece International signed a two-year deal with the Eagles in the summer transfer window after Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes deemed the striker as surplus to requirements at the BayArena.
Gekas told Bild newspaper: "It was Skibbe that made me move to this club.
"I am happy that things went that way for me this summer.
"We have made a difficult start to this season, but the recent victory against Nuremburg was extremely important for us.
"We have to build on this now by starting a winning streak."
Gekas signed a two year contract at the Commerzbank-Arena during the summer and has already netted an impressive four goals in six appearances for the club.
