Sneijder: Schuster¿s fifth signing

Holland international midfielder Wesley Sneijder has joined Real Madrid from Ajax.

The Dutch club announced they had agreed a 27million euros (£18.3million) fee with the Primera Liga champions for the 23-year-old.

Sneijder has now put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract at The Bernabeu and becomes Bernd Schuster's fifth summer signing.

Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, defenders Christoph Metzelder and Pepe and striker Javier Saviola have all moved to Real.

Sneijder should be joined at the Spanish club by fellow Dutchman Royston Drenthe, who will undergo a medical on Monday.

Real struck a deal with Feyenoord for the 20-year-old on Friday and he should sign early next week.

Chelsea winger Arjen Robben is also a target for Schuster and he would complete a triple Dutch swoop for Real.
