PSV Eindhoven striker Arouna Kone has revealed that he rejected the chance to move to Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Ivory Coast star was reportedly the subject of a ‚é¼20million (£13million) offer during the transfer window.

It would appear that PSV gave the offer some thought, as Kone has confirmed that he turned down the chance to head to Donetsk.

"If I got to either Russia or Ukraine it will be the end of my career," Kone told Eindhoven Dagblad. "I want to play in Spain or England one day.

"PSV is a big club, playing in a big league and in the Champions League and if I leave them it will only be for a bigger club."
