FC Twente moved to the top of the Eredivisie table after thrashing ADO Den Haag as PSV Eindhoven and Ajax drew 2-2 at Philips Stadion.

Luuk de Jong scored a second-half brace as 2010 champions Twente hit the summit courtesy of a 5-2 victory at home to Den Haag.

The visitors took the lead through Lex Immers' 14th minute penalty, but Twente were level within two minutes following Marc Janko's equaliser.

Douglas gave Twente the lead 11 minutes after half-time and De Jong extended the advantage with his first of the afternoon on 72 minutes.

Den Haag pulled one back through John Verhoek on 76 minutes, but just 60 seconds later, substitute Emir Bajrami scored for Twente before De Jong wrapped up the scoring in the final minute.

Reigning champions Ajax twice came from behind to draw 2-2 away to PSV to lie one point off the pace in a congested top of the table.

Tim Matavz provided PSV with a dream start when scoring after just two minutes, but Ajax levelled in the final minute of the first half through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.

PSV were back in front 10 minutes after half-time through Georgino Wijnaldum's penalty, but Ajax hit back again to earn a point on 79 minutes through Dmitri Bulykin.

AZ Alkmaar are level on points with Twente at the head of affairs after claiming a 2-1 victory away to RKC Waalwijk.

Substitute Charlison Benschop scored the decisive goal on 65 minutes after Rasmus Elm's 10th minute penalty for AZ had been cancelled out on the stroke of half-time by Geoffrey Castillon.

Utrecht recovered from a half-time deficit to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Heracles Almelo.

Alexander Gerndt had given Utrecht a 19th minute lead, but goals from Kwame Quansah and Glynor Plet within the space of six minutes had Heracles in front at the interval.

However, Utrecht claimed a point thanks to Nana Asare's goal nine minutes into the second period.
