Totti: Thigh strain
Roma will be without captain Francesco Totti for Tuesday's crunch UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester United.
The talismanic Giallorossi skipper has been ruled out of the quarter-final first leg tie against The Red Devils with a thigh strain.
The former Italy international suffered the strain toward the conclusion of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Cagliari in Serie A, a game in which he found the back of the net.
"At the end of Saturday's encounter, Francesco Totti complained of a pain in the flexor of his left thigh," read a statement on the club's official website.
"On Sunday morning he was subjected to tests that highlighted a muscular injury in the cavity of the left thigh flexor. The player will have to have a period of rest and the situation will be monitored over the next few days."
The news of Totti's absence against the in-form Red Devils is a major blow to Roma's hope of progressing as he is the club's leading scorer with 14 league goal this season.
