Tevez: Instant success
Carlos Tevez has spoken of his delight at winning the title in his first year at Manchester United.
The Argentinean formed an instant understanding with fellow forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney and helped fire the Red Devils to a tenth Premier League crown.
The striker had previously tasted domestic success during his time in Argentina and Brazil, but admits that taking the championship in England has come as a massive relief.
"I am very happy," Tevez told Ole.
"This is one of the best things to have happened to me in my life.
"I had tow-and-a-half years without winning a title so I was getting used to that, and I didn't like it."
Tevez celebrated at Wigan's JJB Stadium by draping an Argentina flag around his shoulders and revealed that it has become customary for players from his country to toast success in that manner.
"I felt it was the right thing to do, so I did it. I didn't really plan anything," he said.
"Every player which wins something playing away from Argentina does it, so I did it here.
"During the season the supporters have shouted Argentina, Argentina and I have noticed many flags in the stands, so I decided to use my own.
"I thought it was a good opportunity to support my country in a good place."
The combative front-man also expressed his gratitude at being accepted so quickly by the Old Trafford faithful.
"It's because they see how much I work for the team," he said.
"They see me every week and know that I do my best. I also did that at West Ham, Corinthians and Boca, I work very hard for every team that I play for.
"It's been wonderful to win the title next to players like Ronaldo and Rooney and many other good players, but the most important thing is the team, not just the good players.
"Now it would be great to win the Champions League. I am going to do everything I can to ensure that we take that title too.
"I know that it is important to win finals. It would be like something out of a dream if I can also win the Champions League in my first year with this team."
