Former Arsenal boss Bruce Rioch will leave Danish champions AaB Aalborg when his contract runs out at the end of the year.

The Scot initially took charge at the Danish club on a six-month deal and his contract will not be renewed when it expires in June.

Aalborg have failed to emulate the success which saw them lift their domestic title last season and qualify for the Champions League for the first time.

Aalborg say they have yet to find a replacement for the ex-Bolton chief.

Director of sport Lynge Jakobsen said: "On the coaching front, we're searching for a long-term solution. We will announce when we have an agreement in place with a new head coach."

Rioch's last match in charge will be the UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on 10th December.
