Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has labelled Steven Gerrard an 'actor' in the wake of his controversial UEFA Champions League penalty.

The Liverpool skipper won and converted a dubious injury-time spot-kick on Tuesday to secure a 1-1 draw with Atletico at Anfield.

Having taken the lead in first half, Atletico could have progressed from Group D to the knockout stages had they secured the three points on Merseyside.

And Cerezo has admitted his annoyance, accusing Gerrard of making the most of his collision with Mariano Pernia in front of The Kop.

"I would give Gerrard a contract to shoot a film as he's a very good actor," Cerezo said in The Sun.

"This anger is very strong but we can't do anything about it."
