Patricio: Helped send Sporting through
FC Twente crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after conceding a dramatic late goal against Sporting Lisbon.
Steve McClaren's Dutch side drew 0-0 with Sporting in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie in Portugal last week.
It took just two minutes for the deadlock to be broken in the second leg as Douglas put Twente in charge.
The score stayed at 1-0 until deep into stoppage time when Sporting goalkeeper Rui Patricio came up for a corner.
Patricio helped bundle the ball into the six-yard box where home defender Peter Wisgerhof steered over his own line for an equaliser that sent Sporting through on away goals.
Panathinaikos overturned a 3-1 deficit from the first leg of their tie with Sparta Prague to prevail 4-3 on aggregate.
Josu Sarriegi, Kostantinos Katsouranis and Dimitrios Salpingidis all netted to give Panathinaikos a 3-0 win on the night.
Maccabi Haifa staged an incredible fightback to beat Aktobe 4-3 at home and progress to the next round.
Having played out a goalless draw in Kazakhstan, Aktobe stormed into a three-goal lead in the second leg thanks to early goals from Averchenko, Anton Chichulin and Marat Kayrullin.

Anderlecht successfully defended their 5-0 victory from the first leg against Sivasspor, although the Turkish team bowed out in style with a 3-1 success at home.
Ersen Martin, Yannick Kamanan and Aydin Musa all got their names on the scoresheet for Sivasspor, while Jelle van Damme struck for the Belgians.
Red Bull Salzburg kept their hopes of making the group stage alive with a 2-1 triumph at Dinamo Zagreb.
With the tie tantalisingly poised at 1-1 from the first contest, Salzburg moved ahead through Dusan Svento before Dimitrios Papadopoulos equalised.
Robin Nelisse proved to be the hero for the Austrian outfit as he fired home the winner seven minutes from time.
