Marseille boss Didier Deschamps believes his side need four more points in UEFA Champions League Group C after routing FC Zurich 6-1 at the Stade Velodrome.

The French side were two-up within 12 minutes after goals from free-kicks, before Mamadou Niang added a third on 52 minutes and Vitorino Hilton, Benoit Cheyrou and Brandao scored in the final ten minutes.

The result keeps Marseille's hopes of qualifying from Group C very much alive ahead of games at AC Milan and then at home against Real Madrid.

The pair are one point ahead of Deschamps' side after a 1-1 draw at San Siro, while Zurich prop up the table on three points.

Deschamps said: "We must enjoy such a moment. It's a score you don't see very often in a Champions League match even if the game was more difficult than the result could mislead to believe.

"The draw between AC Milan and Real Madrid will force us to grab four points from our last two games. We'll give everything in Milan and we'll take stock afterwards."

Challandes frustrated

But Zurich coach Bernard Challandes was disappointed with the scoreline, believing it was not a true reflection of the game.

"I'm frustrated because the result is not a fair reflection of the reality of the game. Marseille's first two goals should have been disallowed for offside," he said.
