Leonardo insisted AC Milan were capable of overturning a 3-2 deficit following their first leg defeat to Manchester United.

The Brazilian tactician believes his side deserved at least a draw from the San Siro match after carving out several openings in the first half.

The Rossoneri took their first chance as Ronaldinho scored via a deflection after just three minutes but Leonardo thinks they could have had a couple more.

United weathered the storm to prevail in a five-goal thriller and leave Leonardo's men with an uphill task if they are to progress to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

"We did not deserve to lose this match," said Leonardo

"But nothing is finished. We have to win 2-0 in England, which is certainly not beyond us.

"When we got into our stride, we dominated United.

"Indeed the first half could have ended 3-0 in our favour."
