Eduardo is looking forward to playing against former club Arsenal after new side Shakhtar Donetsk were drawn alongside them in UEFA Champions League Group H.

The Croatia international left the Gunners in the summer, after joining the club from Dinamo Zagreb in 2007.

Eduardo, who scored 20 goals for Arsenal, suffered a serious leg break during his time at Emirates Stadium, and his recovery earned him a place in the hearts of Gunners fans.

The 27-year-old is now looking forward to his return to North London, while he believes Shakhtar and Arsenal are likely to progress from Group A which also includes Braga and FK Partizan.

He said: "I always had a feeling that Arsenal and Shakhtar would be drawn together in the same group.

"It will be fantastic for me to come back to a club I will always love and respect, to see all my old team-mates and to play again in front of the best fans in England.

"In my opinion, Arsenal and Shakhtar are the favourites to go through."
