Cristiano Ronaldo has targeted a return to action in Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League clash against Ajax.

Ronaldo suffered an ankle injury in the goalless draw against Real Mallorca on 29th August and it was initially thought that he would be sidelined for three weeks.

He was forced to miss Portugal's 4-4 draw with Cyprus in a Euro 2012 qualifier last Friday and the team's 1-0 loss to Norway on Tuesday.

But the 25-year-old could be back sooner than expected after revealing that he has 'almost' completely recovered.

Ronaldo is set to sit out Real's Primera Liga match at home to Osasuna on Saturday but could be in contention for their European encounter next Wednesday.

"I feel better and we'll see how it (the injury) develops," he told reporters.

"I'm still not perfect but almost at one hundred per cent. I'll return as soon as possible, maybe in two days I can rejoin the squad."

He added: "I believe I can be ready for the match against Ajax."

Real have also been drawn alongside AC Milan and Auxerre in what promises to be a very competitive Group G of the Champions League.
