Bilic: New two-year deal
Slaven Bilic has agreed a new two-year deal with Croatia to rule out a possible move to England.
The former West Ham and Everton defender has been linked with a switch to the English Premier League with reports suggesting Manchester City were keen to bring in Bilic as a replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson.
Bilic's current contract was due to end next August, but Croatia have moved to tie him down to a new improved deal.
Bilic is highly-regarded in European football having guided Croatia to Euro 2008 and knocking out England in the process.
The new deal will take Bilic through to the 2010 World Cup and is a major boost ahead of this summer's Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.
Croatian soccer federation vice-president Ivan Brlekovic confirmed a deal has been agreed and that Bilic will sign the contract on Friday.
"The coach's salary will have a fixed value but additional rewards will depend on his team's successes," Brlekovic told Croatian daily Vecernji List.
