Beenhakker: Pessimistic about chances
Poland coach Leo Beenhakker has dismissed his side's chances of reaching the Euro 2008 quarter-finals as they were held to a late draw with Austria.
Beenhakker's men took the lead against the run of play in the 30th minute as Roger Guerreiro, who was debatably offside, opened the scoring in Vienna.
However, co-hosts Austria rescued a point in Group B as 38-year-old Ivica Vastic converted an injury time penalty.
The draw means that both sides can still progress to the last eight, but Beenhakker - whose side must now defeat already qualified Croatia on Monday in their final group game to stand a chance of escaping - feels Poland will be heading home early.
"I am happy with my boys, I cannot reproach them for anything," said Beenhakker.
"But I don't believe that we have a chance of qualifying. If we had won today, then yes."
